Hello my sweet lovely family!
These weeks just keep getting better and better! I'll start with the bad news though because thankfully there is more good than bad this week. Remember Mandy? Yeah well she dropped us :( I am SO sad :( We went over for our next appointment and she didn't answer (I might have told you this last week, sorry if I did) but after that we have called, texted, left notes on her door, and we have got nothing back. It's really sad because I could see such potential in her. I am still hopeful though :)
Okay. So this whole week our Zone Leaders would text us every day basically and tell us to watch for miracles. So we did! That day, we were tracting and found a girl named Maria and I was able to give my first harvest blessing! Pretty nerve racking but it was very cool to feel the spirit work through me. Anyway, we have an appointment with her this week so we are just PRAYING that she will be curious enough to want to learn more and that we will have someone to teach. Remember the family I told you about that we keep trying to set up an appointment with them but they're not interested? So we just stop in all the time for water and have made friends with them? It's the County family and they called us that same day wondering if we could come help them with service! We were stoked because it was a chance to get back in their house. We have since helped them scrub the floor and paint their walls. It was actually really funny because while we were doing that, guess what show came on TV? Yup, it was 3:00 and Ellen came on! I was dying. Tempation was seriously staring me in the face haha but I tried to be obedient and just moved to a place where I couldn't see the TV. It was so hard though! I miss watching Ellen :( But anyway, that was a big miracle because we are slowly teaching them without them realizing it :) That same day we were walking around a park and we ran into a guy we had talked to a couple days ago named Hector. He remembered all of our names and everything and said that he would come to our scripture study class! [side note: we are starting a Book of Mormon class every Saturday to hopefully get some new investigators. So far the most people we have had is 2 hahaha] THEN , the next night we had an appointment at 8:30 but hadn't gotten all our OYM's yet and had to be home at 9. Anyway, we said a prayer to know what to do, then started driving.. As we were driving, our appointment texted us and rescheduled so we were able to get our OYMs! It was really small and simple but it was so good to know that the Lord is watching over us :)
I had my first flat tire this week! And currently Sister Nelson has one too so we have been able to take the car the last few days which has been reaaaaal nice! I also got asked on a date this week! Hahaha we were handing out pass-a-long cards one night and Sister Nelson was talking to this black guy that wanted our number and it was on the card we gave him, so he followed us around and was asking to hang out and all that.. It was super funny. When we got home, he called us, asked specifically for me and asked me on a date! I obviously had to tell him no and explained what we are and what we do. I said the only way we can "hang out" is if we talk about Jesus stuff hahaha. It was super funny. We also got hit on by the guy at cold stone and we got free ice cream :) There are benefits of being 3 cute girls :)
This week overall was great and I love this work. I read Mormon 8 and 9 today and it's all about how God is a God of miracles. That was the foundation of our week I feel like. I know it's hard to think that we have miracles happen today, but I know that they don't always have to be big miracles. They happen every single day, multiple times a day. I know if you pray for miracles to happen, and have the faith that they will, God will not let us down. God is a God of miracles and I know that He wants us to be happy. I know we have to expect miracles to happen in order for them to happen. I'm so glad I have this chance to be in California, even if it's 100+ degrees some days, and to share what I know to be 100% true with people. I love my companions and I love this gospel! Hope you have a great week and expect miracles!
I love you all so so much!!
Love,
Sister Anderson :)
